Ibiza 2016: Events, Line Up, Things To Do & Trips

Ibiza 2016

Many of us have already set our sights on the Ibiza 2016 season and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out that it’s going to be a hell of a ride. Here, we’ll be previewing what’s to come. Ibiza is a dynamic place and as always there will be some huge changes for the new season.

However, one thing we can all rely on from the White Isle is the definitive Balearic experience. Expect parties aplenty, glittering seas, hot days, long nights, bright lights and memories that will last you a lifetime!

IBIZA 2016 CALENDAR: EVENTS AND LINE UP

The Space Ibiza 2016 Opening Party date has been already been confirmed for May 24th! Their opening fiesta is often regarded as one of the best of the season.

DC-10’s ‘Circoloco’,  Sankeys’ ‘Tribal Sessions’ and Marco Carola’s ‘Music On’ have all seen week after week of dedicated clubbers hungry for the party, and we don’t think that’s going to change any time soon!

Amnesia continue to branch out with Ibiza’s first ‘bass music’ residency: Award winning UK duo Chase & Status held a weekly slot at the club’s ‘Together’ night with tremendous guests featuring.

Fingers crossed, Amnesia will continue with this diverse, forward-thinking approach and we will see new residents emerge for the 2016 season. To add to this, Amnesia’s Cocoon – Sven Vath’s germanic techno haven has a cult following and remains one of Ibiza’s long-standing parties.

Music On grows immensely after one of the biggest closing parties we had ever seen. We’re expecting a strong return!

Ushuaia continues to dominate the evening landscape, with 2015 featuring it’s strongest EDM lineup yet including parties from David Guetta, Avicii, Martin Garrix, Hardwell, Axwell & Ingrosso and Armin Van Buuren.

That left Ushuaia with only one regular underground house and techno night with Ants – however Ants was a super strong performer once again every Saturday, so expect Ants to return next year. You can always expect surprises with Ushuaia.

On a different tip, Space combined the two radically different parties once again, Elrow and Kehakuma. The former championing hilariously bizarre vibes in the main room whilst Kehakuma brought it down to the essence of clubbing with the understated vibe.

This still remains an unlikely pairing gives the world’s number one superclub a dynamic experience and will probably come back once again for 2016 – with rumours that it is Space Ibiza’s last year. Ibiza’s fastest growing club Sankeys have seen great success with a solid lineup across the week.

For the new season, rumours suggest that they will be sticking to their guns with workers’ favourites Tribal Sessions and Viva Warriors. To add to this, Redlight had a great year providing a mixture of electronic sounds all the way down to disco, electro and deep, jacking house.

You’re always in good hands when it comes to Manchester’s infamous clubbing brand Sankeys; their masterful curation of house and techno’s finest will take the island by storm once again.

Always a breath of fresh air, live gigs should be continued to be held at the Ibiza Rocks Hotel in 2016, consisting of a mixture of classic and cutting edge rock, pop, hip-hop acts and more.

The previous season has seen tremendous shows from likes of Fatboy Slim, Rudimental, HAIM, Madness, Ed Sheeran & Nas so you can expect more electrifying live performances from the notorious hotel brand.

Privilege, the world’s largest club, will also host a number of parties including Europe’s biggest paint party Neonsplash and the Spanish, LGBT-friendly SuperMartXe which should be making a return for the Ibiza 2016 season to offer a unique set of parties to San Antonio.

BEST PLACE TO BOOK YOUR IBIZA 2016 TRIP

We might be biased, but If you know about Together Week Ibiza, then you’ll know that we’ve been taking thousands of people to the White Isle for years and 2016 is no exception.

After our biggest year last year in 2015 with 8 sold out weeks, we are now expanding in 2016 with 12 huge party weeks to choose from.

But if you’re not in the know, then you’re probably wondering what exactly is Together Week? We could easily just say it’s the time of your life but to give you some details here is more on Together Week in just 5 steps:

1) Together Week is one most social weeks of your life, where you and your friends get together with hundreds of other likeminded revellers – every single week we have at least 350 people on Together Week, so expect to meet a heap of new friends, while you party with them in the best party location on the planet. We have people from all over the world UK, USA, Sweden, Australia & India

2) Together Week includes 6 days and 5 nights accommodation at only the best party hotels in Ibiza we could find. We work with Ibiza Rocks Hotel & Tropical Hotel in San Antonio and Jet Apartments & Arlanza Apartments in Playa Den Bossa.

These hotels are perfect for a week away in Ibiza, close to amentities/supermarket, and close enough to the clubs too. All are rated extremely well on Tripadvisor too – so you can be sure that your only staying in the best social party hotels.

3) Club & event access is included every single day & all week; plus we only go to the very best events & venues, including Pacha, Amnesia, Ocean Beach, Space, Sankeys and more.

Not only that every Together Week includes access to the (what we would say is legendary) Together Week sunset boat party, plus daytime pool parties in stunning beach side locations. We make sure you get to see the very best Ibiza has to offer,  just don’t expect to get much sleep

4) We are always adding in new exciting experiences within Together Week and for 2016 we’ve added a brand new watersports day where you’ll get access to Ocean Mania, one of the funniest things you’ll do all year. Plus you can upgrade to other watersports like Jet ski’s, parasailing, and more, easily via your Together Week account

IBIZA CLUBS IN 2016

It’s been a significant year for a few of the clubs in Ibiza. Space Ibiza was voted the best club in the world for a fourth time.

As you might expect, Space threw an appropriately celebratory party in 2014 and with a wide range of parties and you will no doubt be able to experience some of the superclub’s stunning lasers, sounds and maze of rooms in 2016.

Eden Ibiza returned in 2015 but not much was made of it’s return after the failure that was Gatecrasher – we will see if that improves for next year. With the full refurb still in place with the newly improved pyrotechnics, lasers and ice cannons, the club has potential yet to be properly harnesses.
One thing that nobody could ignore was the monumental lineup that Ushuaia brought to the island. The number one open air beach club in Ibiza opted for some of the world’s biggest names in mainstream EDM with a weekly lining boasting the likes of David Guetta, Avicii, Hardwell, Martin Garrix and more.

Only their Saturday day party ‘ANTS’, showcased a more underground sound, but this is not necessarily a bad thing.

For 2016, expect Ushuaia to continue with the glitzy approach with all the pyrotechnics, lasers, smoke machines, floating dancers and extravagance you can imagine.

With Ushuaia opting for a less niche club sound and Hard Rock Hotel bringing pop stars like Tinie Tempah for the weekly pool party, expect more of the same so party people will be able to see more world-famous chart-toppers in action.

Although Ibiza-goers can enjoy some chart-topping superstars if they so please, it’s highly unlikely that the likes of underground favourites such as DC-10 and Sankeys will follow suit in 2016.

In fact, there has been something of a backlash on the island and many believe that this is only going to strengthen the scene for the no-frills underground purists. After all, a bit of diversity and healthy competition can only be a good thing, right?

Other consistent staples such as Es Paradis, Privilege and Benimussa Park which hosts the infamous Zoo Project will be making a return for Ibiza 2016. The competition is fierce so clubs will no doubt be aiming to bring their biggest parties to the table.

WHICH DJS WILL BE PLAYING IN 2016

In the true spirit of the island, Ibiza 2016 will be a mix of masters of the craft as well as new and emerging talent. Thanks to technology and the ever-evolving dance music scene, young and innovative DJs are mixing in with the club stalwarts.

Some are saying that Ibiza is at a loss with Vegas sucking up the high-end crowd and Croatia providing a cheaper option but nothing compares to the vibe, energy and also insane line-ups that Ibiza drops every single year.

In terms of DJs, Guetta, Armin Van Buuren and Departures (Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso of Swedish House Mafia fame) have got the Vegas sound covered whilst Amnesia’s Together and Ibiza Rock’s W.A.R! are pushing names like Hannah Wants, Jack U, Eats Everything, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, DJ EZ, Redlight, Oneman and more.

The coming season will no doubt follow suit with innovative and exciting dance music from these names and others. Amnesia have been armed with Calvin Harris as a regular at the much loved CREAM party but he was missing in the 2015 season. He’s snagged most successful DJ in the world for a second year running and earns doubly as much as second place, David Guetta.

Paris Hilton has pranced about behind the decks for her four ‘Foam and Diamonds’ parties, raking in apparently £400,000 per show (to a lot of disbelief).

The new season will see CREAM come out with another equally big name and Paris Hilton will most likely make a return if the unexpected success of her shows this year with Matinee are anything to go by.
On the other side of the spectrum, the coming summer will be pushing the purist ‘house and techno’ scene that the island is well-known for more than ever with bandwagoners heading off elsewhere.
There’s an aesthetic and community that can’t be recreated away from the island and the likes of Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, Marco Carola, Sven Vath, Solomun and more are keeping the raw spirit well and truly alive.
For those looking to get a deeper insight into the life of a top Ibiza DJ, Carl Cox explains that Ibiza is changing – views are split but we know for certain that Carl will be back with something big in 2016.

Hot Creations have consistently torn down DC-10 every Wednesday – Jamie Jones’ Paradise is set to make a big return for the coming Summer with his distinctive, off-kilter deep house twang.

If there’s one thing we know for certain, it’s that the new season will once again exhibit cutting-edge sounds from UK and the rest of the world, whichever club it’s at.

DJs can be a hard thing to predict with new talent blowing up so quickly every year. However, if you follow dance music you will have a good idea of who will be out for the season on top of the White Isle’s mainstay artists.

HOW TO GET A SUMMER JOB IN IBIZA 2016

Looking to find a job for the Ibiza 2016 season? With millions of tourists coming to the White Isle every year, there’s huge potential to work in the bars, clubs and hotels as a PR, ticket seller, bartender, waiter, chef, receptionist, dancer, DJ and more!

Jobs won’t necessarily be hard to come by, but the competition is fierce – lots of people will certainly be working in Ibiza 2016.
The season will properly kick off in May and go on until early October.

Make sure you get yourself down to the island at the start of the season to snap up a job as this is when managers of clubs and bars will hold recruitment and interview days. If you’re struggling, the job board at the ‘Ship Inn’ in San Antonio Bay is a good place to start but remember to be proactive and ask around.
Let’s get this straight: few people work in Ibiza strictly for the pay.

Selling tickets, you might only earn commission with no base-rate and you may be working hard five or six days a week.
However, working in Ibiza is an incredible experience and you don’t need to be earning big money to have the time of your life.

Besides, there’s no reason you can’t earn a decent amount if you’re good at what you do! If you’re serious about working then you’ll want to get an NIE number available from Ibiza’s police station in Ibiza Town.

This is your right to work on the island and you can apply for one by bringing your passport and filling in the forms up until 2pm during the day.

One of your applications will need to be approved by a bank and then you’ll be able to hand them back in at the Police Station. The process is simple and you’ll have your NIE card within a few days. Sorted!

Tips for getting a job for Ibiza 2016:

ARRIVE EARLY: Many of the recruitment days are held in early May and you’ll want to secure a job and get settled before the season gets into full swing.
GET OUT THERE: Ibiza workers have a huge community; make sure you’re meeting people and looking for opportunities wherever possible – it’ll pay to network.
BE CONFIDENT: Many jobs are dependent on outgoing people, especially if you’re working as a PR and selling tickets. A bit of charm will go a long way.
ENJOY YOURSELF: Don’t be afraid to have fun! Most PR & Bar tending jobs will allow you some free drinks & club guest list entry.
PACE YOURSELF: Don’t go overboard and give your employer a reason to fire you – you want to be here for the whole season, right?
